The Development Authority works to improve the economic viability and well being of communities in the north country. We have formed strong partnerships with local, state, and federal organizations to promote business and housing development throughout the region.

The Development Authority administers several business loan programs to promote job creation and retention among small businesses. The Authority also provides funding for the development of quality, affordable housing in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties through its housing programs.

In addition, we provide underwriting services to the St. Lawrence County Office of Economic Development and the Town of Gouverneur for their business loan programs. The Authority's staff also advises several local development corporations including those in Clayton, Carthage and Lewis County.
