Position (Title): Equipment Operator

The Development Authority of the North Country (DANC) is seeking a full-time, qualified Equipment Operator (EO I) for the daily operation of various heavy equipment at the Solid Waste Management Facility (SWMF) in Rodman, NY.
To be considered, a candidate must have a high school diploma, or GED, and demonstrate a working knowledge of a variety of heavy and light duty equipment including excavators, 'dozers, rollers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and haulers. Experience in this area will be a plus. Must have a clean NYS driver license, CDL-B is preferred or attained within 6 months of hire, and pass a DOT physical and participate in our random drug screening program.
Typical duties will include proper receipt and handling of waste materials, earth moving/mining tasks, snow/ice control, excavations, pipeline construction/repairs, dust control/road maintenance, and some general labor duties and routine equipment maintenance. Must be able to learn new tasks and demonstrate a technical capability.
