Deputy Secretary of State Deidre "Dede" Scozzafava, Congressman Bill Owens, and Assemblywoman Addie Russell joined James Wright, Executive Director, and Tom Hefferon, Chair, of the Development Authority of the North Country, with it partners in economic development, as they launched the Drum Country Business regional marketing initiative at an event held at Jefferson Community College. Along with the Development Authority the partnership is comprised of the Jefferson County Job Development Corporation, Lewis County Office of Economic Development and Planning, St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency, the Fort Drum Regional Liaison Organization, and National Grid. The initiative markets the three-county region to site selectors and businesses touting the region's assets for attracting businesses and jobs to locate here.
