Additional Loans Awarded through Maple Producers Program

The Development Authority has recently awarded an additional $45,000 in low-interest loans to maple producers in St. Lawrence County.  Michael Kenney, (d/b/a Sweeter Creations Sugarhouse), Madrid, received $15,000 and David Noble (d/b/a Noble Farm), Canton, received $30,000 both for reverse osmosis machines, vacuum systems and tubing in order to increase maple syrup volumes.  The goal of the Maple Producers Demonstration Program is to increase productivity for maple producers in order to provide more product to local markets.  To date, $90,000 has been lent from this program.
