Recognizing that agribusiness is a growing segment of our regional economy, the Development Authority of the North Country has capitalized a Value-Added Agricultural Program that will provide assistance to maple producers in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties in order to increase productivity. The program has been initially funded with $200,000 from the Authority's Community Development Loan Fund.

On July 19, 2011, Empire State Development and the Research Foundation of SUNY, on behalf of the college at Plattsburgh, announced the launch of the Adirondack-Champlain Telemedicine Information Network (ACTION) in the North Country.
