During these challenging times, the Development Authority of the North Country recognizes that it provides essential services to communities and businesses across the North Country and we want to assure you that we will continue to provide those services. Our water and wastewater treatment operators, our Telecommunications professionals and our Materials Management staff will continue to work to keep those essential services running smoothly.
The regional landfill will continue to accept waste during its regular hours, Telecommunications staff will still be available for essential service, and our treatment operators will continue to operate plants because the need for those services will not diminish. All other Authority staff will continue to work as well and provide the services they offer.
However, for the protection of our staff and you, our customers, there will be some temporary changes to the way Authority staff works to do our part to help contain the spread of the coronavirus. Until further notice, staff will not be attending meetings; they can submit reports electronically or discuss them over the telephone when needed. Staff will not be filling any new service orders for the time being unless they are emergency-related; please feel free to call your Authority contact to discuss future opportunities or requests. Visitors will not be permitted at any Authority facilities; please conduct your business by phone or electronically for now.
Along with the rest of world, we hope these measures are very temporary and that we can all get back to normal business as quickly as possible. However, the Authority recognizes that each of us has a responsibility at this moment in time to do our part to help control the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the most vulnerable among our population. Please call or email me or your Authority contact if you have any questions or concerns about Authority operations. Thank you for your understanding.
