Development Authority Recognized for Work with Municipalities

The Development Authority of the North Country was recently recognized by the New York Department of State for its work to help local municipalities share services and improve efficiencies.

The “Best Partner Award” was presented to Development Authority Executive Director James W. Wright and Authority Director of Engineering Carrie Tuttle by New York Secretary of State Rossana Rosado at an event in Albany.

The award specifically cites the variety of efficiency studies the Development Authority has undertaken for local municipalities and the Authority’s efforts to share services and improve efficiencies among entities using Geographic Information Systems.

“The work they have done with these local governments is an extraordinary example of the partnerships that have been developed to focus on leveraging new opportunities for the betterment of their communities,” Rosado said in the proclamation.

“The Development Authority’s goal is to be a partner with other organizations and municipalities to help everyone provide services in the best and most cost-effective way possible,” Wright said. “It’s wonderful to receive this recognition from the Department of State for our work with local government partners.”
