Brian S. McGrath is serving as a member of the Development Authority of the North Country by appointment of former Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Mr. McGrath is a partner at the national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. Mr. McGrath focuses on advising clients on complex commercial litigation matters and class-actions with a particular focus on advising financial institutions on real estate and lender liability matters, including RESPA, FDCPA and FRCA litigations. 

Mr. McGrath brings to the Authority over twenty years of extensive experience in complex litigation in a wide variety of fields, including antitrust, intellectual property, financial services, white collar criminal investigations and sports labor law. Mr. McGrath also previously served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney's Office. Mr. McGrath currently serves as a member of the State University of New York, College at Oswego College Council.

Mr. McGrath holds a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University at Buffalo, School of Law.  He is admitted to practice law in New York and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Current term start date is July 21, 2014 with an expiration date of October 17, 2015.
